Planning a New Website for 2027? Start Here
If a new website is on your list for 2027, the best time to start isn't January. It's now.
I don't mean starting the build. I mean the groundwork. The businesses whose builds run smoothly usually aren't the ones with the biggest budgets. They're the ones who turned up ready.
Here's what to do over the next few weeks.
1. Decide what your website actually needs to do
Not “look nicer.” What job should it do? More enquiries, more bookings, more sales, fewer of the same questions in your inbox? Pick the one that matters most. Every design decision gets easier once that's clear.
2. Start gathering your words and photos
Content is where builds most often stall. Start a folder now and put things in it as you go: a few lines about what you do, your services, the questions customers always ask, and any photos you love. It doesn't need to be polished. Raw is fine. Empty is the problem.
3. Decide who signs off
If three people need to approve every page, the project will move at the speed of the slowest inbox. Choose one decision-maker. Everyone else can have input, but one person gives the final yes.
4. Write down what annoys you about your current site
The page you're embarrassed to send people to. The form that never seems to work. The thing you can't update without help. This list is gold. It tells us exactly what to fix.
5. Find two or three websites you like
They don't need to be in your industry. Just note what you like about each one. The colours, the layout, how easy it is to find things. Showing beats describing every time.
Why bother now?
Because January fills up fast, and nobody wants their new website held up waiting on photos from a phone camera roll. Do the groundwork now and your build can start the moment it's booked.
Spots for 2027 builds are open now. Book a discovery call and we'll work out what you need and when it makes sense to start.
